Tame Impala Wins Best International Group at 2016 Brit Awards

British singer Adele stole the show on Wednesday evening at the 2016 BRIT Awards in London, making a triumphant return to the star-studded ceremony as she picked up four trophies, including the coveted “album of the year” award.

“I’d like to just go back to the hotel and get track trousers on and eat crisps and get really comfortable”, she told George Shelley and Lilah Parsons on the carpet.

Other nominees: How Deep Is Your Love by Calvin Harris & Disciples; Bloodstream by Ed Sheeran & Rudimental; Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding; Hold Back The River by James Bay; Hold My Hand by Jess Glynne; Black Magic by Little Mix; Up by Olly Murs ft.

Despite her superstar status, the singer proved that she was still as down-to-earth as ever, telling the crowd that it wasn’t bad for a “girl from Tottenham”. “I love you all so much”.

A court ruled last week that Kesha could not be released from her Sony contract after she accused record producer Dr. Luke of sexual, verbal and emotional abuse.

But hey, it’s Adele, and her candid, blunt method of voicing her thoughts is one of the main reasons that we all love her, right?

Meanwhile, One Direction beat Adele in the category of British Artist Video of the Year, which is fan-voted.

The band was awarded with the “Best International Group Award”.

After being nominated in four categories, the British hitmaker took home the exact same number of statuettes despite missing out on Best Video.

Rihanna, who delayed the start of her world tour and missed the Grammys last week due to illness, shook up London’s 02 Arena with a rendition of her new song “Work” with a special appearance by Drake.

The singer Adele was awarded an honorary award from the International Space Station (ISS) on Wednesday at the 36th Brit Awards ceremony.

Adele performed the second single from her album When We Were Young and naturally smashed it.

Other nominees were Coldplay, Florence + The Machine, James Bay, Jamie xx. “I’d like to take this moment to publicly support Kesha”, she said.
