Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins out 4-6 weeks

Lemon was re-signed one day after he was released by the Bucs following his appearance Sunday in the victory at New Orleans. He misfired high, the football glancing off the left hand of his favorite target.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins has reportedly suffered a shoulder strain that will keep him out of the lineup for the next four to six weeks.

A second-round pick in the 2014 National Football League draft, Seferian-Jenkins emerged from the first two games this year as his team’s leading pass catcher with seven receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns.

If Seferian-Jenkins can’t go, that’ll be a pretty big blow to the Bucs’ passing game.

We should hear more about the severity of both Smith and Seferian-Jenkins’ injuries on Wednesday, when the Bucs practice and will have to turn in an official injury report. Assuming the best case scenario, it sounds like Seferian-Jenkins could return for the Bucs’ Week 8 game against the Atlanta Falcons on November 8. Brate, a Harvard graduate, played five games for the Bucs as an undrafted rookie past year after the team’s tight ends were hit hard by injuries.

Brandon Myers and Luke Stocker were backing up Seferian-Jenkins in the first two weeks and Cameron Brate has been signed off the Saints practice squad to give the team more depth. Lemon had been signed last week as an injury replacement for linebacker James-Michael Johnson.

Gone from the practice squad are former UCF receiver Rannell Hall, defensive tackle Derrick Lott and linebacker Julian Sanford.
