With less than a week to go for the foundation stone laying ceremony of Andhra Pradesh’s capital city Amaravati, the state government is making elaborate arrangements for the event, including sending out invitations to prominent personalities. The DMK President said Amaravati is going to be the dream city and Mr Naidu has got the expertise to realise his dreams.

Now with AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu inviting KCR personally for the foundation ceremony, the latter has responded positively and after a long hiatus will be be visiting AP and grace the event on October 22.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Congress leaders met Governor E S L Narasimhan here and urged that FIRs be issued on the police cases filed by the party earlier against Modi, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu for “cheating” people on the special status issue. “The court has also taken strict note of it and sent notices collector”.
However, the capital construction plans of the state government are yet to clear the green hurdle. Activists and rival parties have accused the government of taking over fertile lands by force. Totally, 33, 000 acres land has been taken under land pooling system.
The AP government has again offered to provide helicopter to KCR from Suryapet to Gannavaram airport and again from Gannavaram airport to Amaravati ceremony site.
In a letter to Naidu, the text of which was released to the media here, Jayalalithaa said 516 people from Tamil Nadu, arrested for alleged forest-related offences, are lodged in prisons in Andhra Pradesh. “A few farmers have also gone to court”.

Naidu said his “mahasankalpam” (greatest goal) is to make Amaravati the top city in India on par with the worldwide cities. He invited many officials around worldwide at the time of starting to build a Amaravati Smart City as well as Capital.
