An eight-legged creature that escaped in the cargo hold of a passenger flight from BWI to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson global grounded the plane.

These people were told that their flight would be delayed several hours, “out of an abundance of caution”.
The airline says the spider was confined to the cargo hold, but the plane was grounded overnight before given the all clear. He wanted to be very open and honest of the situation.
The new aircraft departed for Atlanta about three hours after the originally scheduled 7 p.m. departure time. “The safety and security of our passengers is our top priority”.
Concerns were raised the spider might not be alone, prompting an intense search of the entire aircraft – as well as a call to the spider’s handler to ensure it had been travelling alone. The flight staff has further added that their policy puts major emphasis on honesty, which is why the two pilots have chosen to provide passengers all their information.
The airline worked with the handler to make sure all of them, if there was more than one, were accounted for.
Baboon tarantulas are known for being defensive with a tendency to hiss when irritated, and they may deliver a mildly venomous bite, according to arachnid experts. The Baboon tarantulas are burnt orange in color and have fangs.
