Target Site Crashes On Cyber Monday
Users who visited target.com were unable to purchase items and faced a message stating: “So sorry, but high traffic’s causing delays”.

There was no mention of the outage on PayPal’s Twitter account and a request for comment from PayPal was not immediately answered.
The day’s widely publicized crush of online deals will attract an estimated 121 million shoppers this year, a National Retail Federation survey predicts.
Target’s website was downed Monday by a flood of shoppers seeking deep discounts on so-called “Cyber Monday”. “Thank you for your patience!”
The Target site went down the morning of Cyber Monday, Nov. 30. As we experience spikes in traffic, our systems place guests in a queue and prompt them to access the site later.
Target’s website seemed to be back up and running within a couple of hours.
It seems both Target and Paypal have underestimated Cyber Monday and are unprepared for the high traffic that the celebration caused. On Monday morning, PayPal “experienced a brief, intermittent interruption in our service”, the company said in a statement, as some customers experienced issues.
UPDATE, 11 a.m.: Target’s website appears to be working again. The Target.com website also includes a doorbusters section that highlights some of the featured bargains.

The outage comes at a bad time for Target, which is making a bigger play for e-commerce shoppers – especially on Cyber Monday.
