Jackson, who was in Kissimmee, Fla. visiting family, was grabbed by a witness to stop him from shooting, Hesh reported. They’ve said the door isn’t closed on a return to the team, although this incident and whatever happens next could certainly shut it. Across two stints, Jackson has played four seasons for the Seahawks, including the last three years. According to the report, Jackson said he grabbed a book bag that contained the gun because his wife was holding a knife.

Jackson and his wife were apparently arguing, leading the quarterback to begin packing his bags. Their children were in the home and asleep at the time.

Jackson’s wife told police.

Jackson was selected in the second round of 2006 National Football League draft by the Minnesota Vikings, where he played until 2010.
