Tata Motors renames hatchback Zica as Tiago
The automaker postponed the launch in India, originally scheduled for the end of January, and, via social media, invited suggestions for a new name.

Taking forward the spirit of innovation, the TIAGO, designed for young vehicle buyers, exudes cutting edge design, technology and driving dynamics to address a new customer segment for Tata Motors with new benchmarks and exciting product experience.
The company crowd sourced the new name of its hatchback. The latter was picked as the victor following a final round of voting.
The company also announced the victor of this campaign Libi Thomas, whose entry matched the selected name.
Prior to its official unveil in December, Tata Motors christened its Kite hatchback as Zica.
The company received over 37,000 names from people in the three-day activity, and three names were finally shortlisted – Adore (Uh-dohr), Civet (Siv-it) and Tiago (T ee – ah – goh).
Tata Motors is yet to announce the date of the launch but is expected to take place in the second half of March.
The TIAGO will be the first auto to showcase the new IMPACT design philosophy which emphasizes on immediate IMPACT at the first sight and a lasting IMPACT overtime.
The Tata Tiago will be made available in two all-new engines – 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel and 1.2-litre Revotron petrol. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Tata hatch will come in six colours: Platinum Silver, Sunburst Orange, Striker Blue, Espresso Brown Pearlescent White and Berry Red.
