Tatiana Maslany finally won an Emmy for Orphan Black!

Emmy victor Tatiana Maslany isn’t as well known as the competition she bested for lead actress in a drama honors including Viola Davis and Taraji P. Henson. Kimmel’s bit featured actors from several shows that were up for bigger awards: “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”, “Modern Family”, “The Late Late Show”, “Veep” and “Game of Thrones”.
Meanwhile, Facebook also released data related to Emmys posts on Monday morning, noting that more than 9 million people had 14 million interactions related to the awards show.
Veep won its second Emmy for best comedy, and lead actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus also scored a repeat win.
While walking down the red carpet for the Emmy Awards night, the actress also revealed to the publication a neat little teaser about the clones that she plays in the final season of “Orphan Black”.
As any member of the Clone Club knows well, watching Maslany in Orphan Black isn’t like watching an actress slap on different wigs: Maslany’s capability of transforming into different characters is so compelling, you might forget that the characters are played by the same person.
Sherlock: The Abominable Bride won for best TV movie.
“Maggie, if you want this, it will be in the lost and found”, he quipped.
“That’s just insane, considering the show almost wasn’t picked up”, she said. That didn’t happen. Instead, How To Get Away With Murder star Viola Davis took home the Emmy. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver was the victor for variety talk series.
Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele accepted the award and thanked the series’ writing staff, producers and crew, even down to “crafts services”.
“Who is to blame for the Donald Trump phenomenon?”
Kimmel praised the year’s offerings, saying “after 68 years, television still manages to surprise us”, while Television Academy chief executive Bruce Rosenblum asserted that “television dominates the global entertainment landscape”.

“I feel so lucky to be on a show that puts women at the center”, Maslany said while accepting her award. “Give them auditions. Give them their story”, Tambor said.
