Tavon Austin, Rams agree to huge extension worth up to $52 million
The Los Angeles Rams locked up Tavon Austin to a four-year extension that will keep the dynamic wide receiver with the team through the 2021 season, the team announced Saturday. They kept a promising one on Saturday with this Austin extension.

The deal is worth $42 million, with $30 million guaranteed, according to a report by ESPN.
He was due to make $2.14 million this year and $12.2 million next year, under the fifth-year first-round option.
Austin, who was drafted eighth overall in the 2013 NFL Draft, has failed to live up to expectations as an explosive playmaker. He caught 52 passes for 473 yards and five touchdowns last season, while running the ball 52 times for 434 yards and four touchdowns. Although Austin hasn’t put up huge numbers during his three years with the Rams, the team does like his potential, which is why they gave him the huge deal. Austin is a dual-threat talent who is poised to explode in 2016 and is a tremendous value at his WR45 positional ADP.

Austin is also a punt return threat. “It is important to our organization to retain players we’ve drafted and invested in, and Tavon is an example of that. We’re excited for him to continue his career with the Rams”.
