Comedian and tv host Ellen DeGeneres appeared on stage wearing a silver sparkly dress similar to Taylor’s and joined the singer as she performed her hit single “Style”.

Taylor Swift paid homage to ’90s singer-songwriter Alanis Morrisette last night at her Staples Center show in Los Angeles.

“I can safely and honestly say I would not be a musician if it had not been for this artist”, Swift gushed.

Swift also celebrated the 20th anniversary of Morissette’s iconic album Jagged Little Pill with a duet of the 1995 classic, “You Oughta Know“.

Swift’s five-night stint at the Staples Center has been a star-studded event. And Swift gave Morissette one hell of an introduction. “Just absolutely magnificent”, she said of Morissette.

What do you think of Taylor and Alanis’ performance? She wrote, along with a photo of them on stage. Just when when the world thought she might be out of friends, she shocked but didn’t disappoint fans by bringing out St. Vincent and Beck.

After the concert, the 25-year-old continued to praise Morissette, tweeting, “I don’t know how to process how fantastic she was”. She and Maines trade off singing portions of the tune, while Maines takes the lead on the chorus as Swift encourages the screaming crowd to jump along to the beat. You could actually sing about your real life, you could put detail to it, you could get really, really made if you wanted to.
