Taylor Swift Calls Out Nicki Minaj for Dissing Her MTV VMA Nomination
Earlier this week, Nicki Minaj called out the MTV VMAs (and, to some extent, Swift) after her music video “Anaconda” failed to get nominated for the coveted Video of the Year award.

Tuesday afternoon Minaj took to twitter to blast MTV for snubbing her from a nomination in the Video of the Year category for her hit single “Anaconda“, and also for leaving out her collaboration with Beyonce, “Feeling Myself“, entirely. When Minaj took to Twitter to voice her frustration over her nomination snub, the “Bad Blood” singer thought that the tweet was aimed at her. She noted, however, “As much as I would love to be at the top of the pops, I’m not really willing to make the personal sacrifices one must make to get there”. “But u should speak on this @taylorswift13”.
Who the heck are you to talk, Taylor Swift, considering the song Bad Blood is nothing but a takedown of me, your fellow woman?!? And one of them is Beyoncé, whose own body is far more aligned to the Minaj school of physical beauty than Taylor Swift’s. “So I’m hosting this year’s VMAs“, she said on Monday.
Swift is nominated for nine moonmen, including video of the year for “Bad Blood“, starring Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham and more of the pop star’s famous friends. “Just exhausted. Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it”. Taylor hasn’t responded to Katy’s tweet as of yet, and it’ll be extremely interesting if she does. Both Swift and the media portrayal of the feud demean Minaj and her opinion, which is a shame when Minaj has made a very valid point.
Swift and Beyonce are the two women nominated in the coveted category alongside Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar.
The argument came on the same day that Minaj’s boyfriend, Meek Mill, accused Take Care rapper Drake of using a ghostwriter.
Nicki Minaj’s criticism of the MTV Video Music Award 2015 nominations has descended into a full-on Twitter row involving loads of celebrities. I guess there was some sixth invisible nominee we don’t know about?

Taylor said that if she won an award on the night, she wanted Minaj on stage with her, but the rapper said that this was an issue bigger than specific artists.
