“Well, certainly it’s been everything but normal”. She encouraged anyone, who could, to help out the relief efforts that are now underway, “and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time”, according to Hollywood Life.

“The current flooding in Louisiana is the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Superstorm Sandy [in October 2012]” said Brad Kieserman, the Red Cross’ vice president of disaster services, operations and logistics. Edwards added that there would be “standing water all over south Louisiana”.

Some 60,000 have registered to receive aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. It was the least she could do, she told the Associated Press, for a community that welcomed her so warmly during her last visit.

A year later she gave $50,000 to a fan who was battling leukemia, and then another $50,000 to one of her backup dancers whose baby nephew was going through cancer treatment.

Over 30,000 people have been rescued since Friday, with more being brought to safety by the hour.

Yesterday (August 16), the “New Romantics” singer donated $1 million to Louisiana’s state disaster relief fund.

Swift released a statement Tuesday to announce her donation.
