Taylor Swift is the world’s top-earning celebrity with $170m in 2016
At the tender age of 26, Taylor Swift is the world´s highest-paid celebrity, pulling in a whopping $170 million over the past year, Forbes magazine said Monday. Swift’s 1989 album sold more than 5 million units in the United States alone and was followed by a massively successful world tour. Aside from the album and the tour, being an endorser for various big brands such as Keds, Diet Coke and Apple also helped in bumping up her earnings for the past year.

The three-time Federation Internationale de Football Association best player, Cristiano Ronaldo who came 4 on the list whit $88 million makes a salary of $50 million per year to top his counterpart, Lionel Messi who, with $81.5 million, topped music star, Adele to clinch the 8 position.
Perry dropped to number 63 on this year’s list, earning a mere $41 million. All that matters though is that she’s almost tripled her $80 million from previous year.
Taking the reins from arch nemesis Katy Perry, Taylor Swift did one up and came out at the number one spot on the Forbes Highest Paid Celebrities 100 list.
Fans watch on as Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston land on the Gold Coast.
Forbes pointed out that Swift’s total easily beat out ex-boyfriend, deejay Calvin Harris, who earned $63 million for 21st place.
While the world has been watching Taylor Swift’s love life play out, she’s been amassing some serious coin.
Boy band One Direction – which includes Swift’s ex Harry Styles – was at No. 2 with $110 million.
Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen earned $98 million over the past year.
Actor and comedian Kevin Hart brought in $87.5 million, snagging himself the sixth spot on the Celebrity 100 list.
Some 40% of her income came from her mobile game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, Forbes said.

The game’s maker, Glu Mobile, is scheduled to release an app starring Swift later this year.
