This new Miley doesn’t like clothes all that much, loves to dirty-dance and swear and smoke weed in public, which probably makes her a risk when it comes to hosting an awards show. Besides Miley’s twerking, CNN reported that it was also during the VMAs when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech in 2009, and where Britney Spears and Madonna outraged audiences with a shared kiss in 2003. The sci-fi, special-effects-laden spectacle looks more expensive than Terminator: Genisys, and given that it has almost 360 million views on YouTube alone, it might rake in the same amount of cash from VEVO views alone.
The 2015 VMAs will air live 30 August at 9pm EST on MTV.
