Taylor Swift named world’s highest-paid celebrity
Having frequented the top of the music charts for years, the singer has now topped Forbes’ annual Celeb 100 list, which ranks the world’s highest-earning celebrities.

According to The Associated Press, the singer raked in a whopping $170 million this year, which is more than double the earnings of fellow pop star top-earners. She also has deals with major brands like Diet Coke and Apple.
Swift a year ago landed at the list’s No. 8 with her previous best of $80 million.
At number two on Forbes’ 2016 Celebrity 100 list is boyband One Direction with $110 million, and Adele is the only other musician in the top 10 with $80.5 million.
The highest-paid celebrity couple of the year is Beyonce and Jay Z, who netted $148 million.
She features on the front of the new CelebrityInsider magazine, and the reality TV star can not contain her excitement.
You can not be surprised that Taylor earns this much, despite the fact she comes nowhere near boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s $300 million pay cheque from past year (that number still floors us every time we think about it).
Here’s the full list of World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities by Forbes.
An impressive feat at just 26-years-old, though the news is probably not enough to take attention away from her blossoming relationship with Tom Hiddleston.
The total earnings at the end of her tour might be more than Taylor’s but for now Taylor has the top spot. Harris pulled in $63 million landing him at number 21.
Many athletes also made the list, including Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo (US$88 million), tennis man Roger Federer (US$68 million), and German race auto driver Sebastian Vettel (US$41 million). “From soccer games in Spain to concerts in China, fans are willing to shell out to see big names – and this is driving the celebrity economy to ever greater heights”, Zack added in a statement.
