When she auditioned for America’s Got Talent, 12-year-old singer songwriter Grave VanderWaal was dubbed “the next Taylor Swift” by judge Simon Cowell – a compliment she called “truly wonderful”.
The pre-teen expressed her glee with the surprise in a video posted on her twitter. “SOOOOOOO MUCH!” she tweeted with the video on Friday.
Taylor was not the only celeb who congratulated the young ukulele player. In fact, she’s a big fan of Swift’s friend-turned-rivalKaty Perry.
Grace VanderWaal is having the time of her life right now.
Congrats to the “Clay” singer on a job well done and the start of an exciting new chapter in her just-gettin’-started career. “Protect it and keep ing and ✏️ing…it will always serve you ❤️” Perry wrote.
