Taylor Swift tops Forbes highest paid celebrity list
Taylor Swift climbed from last year’s no. 8 ranking to become this year’s world’s highest-paid celebrity on Forbes’s Celebrity 100 list.

Last year’s top-earning celebrity was former professional boxer Floyd Mayweather, who earned $415 million, almost double Taylor Swift’s takings for the past year.
The Bad Blood singer earned most of it from her massively successful 1989 world tour.
Other major sources of income for Swift include endorsement deals with Diet Coke, Keds and Apple.
On the Hollywood front, Jennifer Lawrence was the industry’s highest-paid actress for the second consecutive year, earning $46 million, a slight drop from the $52 million The Hunger Games star banked the year before.
Forbes has named its top-earning celebrities for the past year, but the No. 1 placeholder could have taken out another title if it wasn’t for a break-up.
There’s no bad blood between Taylor Swift and her accountant.
Swift outperforms other pop queens like Adele, ranked 9th on the list with 80.5 million; Madonna in 12th place with 76.5 million, Rihanna in 13th place with 75 million, and Katy Perry in the 63th spot with 41 million. Despite being the one topping the Forbes list, Swift isn’t featured on the magazine’s cover.
Coming in at number two on the list this year was the boy band One Direction, (US$110 million), followed by author James Patterson (US$95 million).

Forbes revealed Swift’s ex-boyfriend and fellow musician Calvin Harris took home $63 million in 2016 and had they remained a together, would’ve topped the Celebrity 100 couple list ahead of Beyoncé and Jay-Z ($107.5 million).
