The singing sensation has secured the top spot in this year’s Forbes list of World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities, grossing United States dollars 170 million, most of which came from her 1989 World Tour.

According to Forbes, “Swift’s payday comes courtesy of her massive 1989 World Tour”.

“She also pads her pocketbook by shilling for brands including Diet Coke, Keds, and Apple”, it added.

Reality star Kim Kardashian, who features on the Forbes magazine cover, was 42nd on the list with earnings of $51 million.

Taylor Swift has shot to the top of the annual Forbes list.

Katy Perry is usually the toughest competition Taylor Swift has for the top of this list each year.

Swift’s ascension comes as she has championed artists against digital music platforms, having called out Spotify in particular.

Had Swift and Harris stayed together, they would have been this year’s top-earning couple, surpassing Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z’s total of $107.5 million. Media moguls such as, Kim Kardashian West, Ellen Degeneres and dozens of other boldfaced names have quickly created a $200 million cottage industry around mobile games. On the other hand, she hasn’t made quite as much as last year’s top-earning celebrity; boxing champion Floyd “The Money’ Mayweather scooped $300 million in 2015 following his Manny Pacquiao fight”.

But Swift could garner even more dough soon: The game’s maker, Glu Mobile, is scheduled to release an app starring Swift later this year.

Swift’s earnings crossed other popular musicians including Adele ($80.5 million), Madonna ($76.5 million), Rihanna ($75 million) and Bruce Springsteen ($60.5 million).

No. 3: James Patterson Author James Patterson took third place with $95 million. Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Portugal’s Real Madrid, came fifth with $88 coming his way.
