Taylor Swift wrote ex-beau Calvin Harris’ recent hit, her rep confirms

Blame Harris’ monster hit “This Is What You Came For” and the creative egos behind it. Those egos belong to Harris and, reportedly, to Swift.

Calvin also confirmed Taylor lent her vocals to part of his latest track and praised her lyrical abilities.

Swift has still got the publishing rights though, according to TMZ.

Harris and Swift announced last month that they’d broken up. She sat down at the piano and did a demo into her iPhone that she sent to Harris.

After sending it to Calvin, the pair are alleged to have hit the studio and laid down a full demo, with Taylor singing and Calvin behind the beat. Both anxious it would overshadow the public’s reception of the song.

Earlier today (13.07.16), Taylor’s representative confirmed she had penned his tune, telling MailOnline: “Taylor Swift wrote “This Is What You Came For” under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg”. Here comes a twisty turn in Taylor and Calvin’s relationship: on the same day as “This Is What You Came For” was released, Calvin told Ryan Seacrest in an interview that he and Taylor “haven’t even spoken about” doing a collaboration. He also said, “I can’t see it happening”.

Real or not, the picture ideal relationship between Swift and Hiddleston is said to be taking a toll on Harris.

Add to that the fact that a cursory Google of the name brings up pretty much nothing and no one of note, except a Swedish poet who apparently finds it amusing that people think he might actually be Taylor Swift.

And, things quickly spiraled downward from there.

This was reportedly a breaking point in their relationship.

Something tells us there’s more to this story.
