Boykin was arrested early Thursday morning after allegedly assaulting a police officer.

Following the arrest, TCU coach Gary Patterson suspended his star quarterback for Saturday’s Alamo Bowl against Oregon. He posted a $5,000 bond and was released from police custody later that day. “Members of his group stated they would get him back to the hotel they were staying at”.
Police said Boykin hit an employee as the fight moved out of the bar. Several officers tackled the player, who struggled until an officer threatened to use a stun gun on him.
Boykin faces a third-degree felony charge after allegedly striking an officer during a bar fight on late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning.
The skirmish was set off by Boykin being heckled in the bar about the upcoming game, McManus said.
According to police, the incident began when someone recognized him at a San Antonio bar and began heckling him.
TCU, which faces OR in the Alamo Bowl on Saturday, will also be without wide receiver Preston Miller, who was suspended by the Frogs alongside Boykin. The 22-year-old has thrived over the past two years as a starter under center and kept the Horned Frogs among the best teams in college football.
“We are aware of the situation last night and are gathering information”, TCU said in a statement. He says Boykin has made some mistakes but the program isn’t built on one player. “I can assure you that I have because it took away the incredible honor and privilege it was to wear a TCU jersey”.
Boykin was a one-time Heisman Trophy contender.
Bike officers came upon Boykin as he was taking swings when he indiscriminately hit an officer.
The bicycle officer was treated at the scene for lacerations to his knees, which he suffered during the fight.
Senior Bram Kohlhausen or redshirt freshman Foster Sawyer will start in Boykin’s place.
The Seminoles (10-3), who trailed 21-3 at halftime, tried to rally with two fourth-quarter touchdown passes by Sean Maguire, but it wasn’t enough to overcome five turnovers.
