TCU’s Tomlinson Elected to Pro Football Hall of Fame
More of the surprise is the lack of selection of wide receiver Terrell Owens, who took to Twitter to express his frustration.

Ravens safety Ed Reed is eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2019 even though he retired after playing seven games for the Texans in 2013.
The Eagles have not had a player who played the majority of his career in Philadelphia named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame since the late Reggie White was inducted in 2006. Yet Owens was passed over by the voters for a second straight year, apparently because of his history of clashing with his teams and, on occasion, teammates. He’s also the first former NFL Europe player to be inducted.
His 15,934 career receiving yards ranks second only to Jerry Rice and his 153 receiving touchdowns is third behind Rice and Randy Moss.
Owens was an All-Pro five times and Pro Bowler six times, and he’s the only player in league history to score a touchdown against all 32 NFL teams.
John Lynch and Brian Dawkins, were not selected from the list of finalists.
Davis will be joining fellow running back LaDainian Tomlinson, pass-rusher Jason Taylor, quarterback Kurt Warner and kicker Morten Andersen in Canton. “When I got the knock, obviously I was shocked”. Jones surely has displayed business savvy, though he has also illustrated numerous same attention-seeking behaviors that many media members knock Owens for.
“So hopefully – if I can influence that and have any control in that – I will certainly try to aid in bringing some attention to that, to make sure we have more players represented in the Hall of Fame”.
With Tomlinson gaining 1,335 yards and scoring 17 touchdowns, the Chargers made the playoffs for the first time in nine seasons in 2004.
Boselli got a glimpse of what it’s like to get that knock on the door at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Merlin Olsen luncheon Friday. “You would say, ‘This is graduate-school offensive-line mindset, when you have such super-confidence in your skills you can go off the radar and do your own thing”.
Social media erupted with an outcry of players that should have made it like Terrell Owens and Kevin Mawae.
Quarterbacks can make their receivers look better than what they really are, but the two best seasons of T.O.’s career in 2000 and 2001 came with Jeff Garcia at quarterback.

The other contributor nominee, former commissioner Paul Tagliabue, did not get the necessary 80 percent of the votes.
