Corpora said he would consider lowering Aldinger’s bail after she is interviewed by pretrial services at the prison.
Source4Teachers, the company that employed Aldinger, issued a statement saying that the sub had been suspended indefinitely. Aldinger had worked at Easton High School as a substitute.
According to investigators, a police officer on routine patrol discovered them inside a vehicle in the Easton Cemetery.
Officials said Aldinger identified herself as a substitute teacher at Easton Area High School; the teen said he was a junior at the school.
Aldinger recently moved away from her husband and children as had been living with her parents. She is free on $50,000 bail. She has a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled 9 a.m. May 31 at District Judge Antonia Grifo’s Downtown court. According to court records, Aldinger admitted to being involved in a sexual relationship with the boy since 2015, when he was 16 years old.
The graveyard’s superintendent, Jeff Mutchler, told the Allentown paper that he wasn’t aware of the recent incident but knew that sex in the cemetery was an ongoing problem.
He said couples, including prostitutes, teens and drug users, try to take advantage of the out-of-the-way nature of the historic cemetery. “Unfortunately, this is not something new to us as far as people bringing this type of activity into the cemetery”.
“It’s a park-like setting”, he told the Morning Call.
