Team India for Australia announced: Yuvraj, Nehra recalled in T20 squad

Veterans Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra made a comeback to the Indian squad on Saturday after being included in the list of 16 probables for next month’s limited overs tour to Australia.

Surprisingly, Suresh Raina was dropped from the ODI side but was retained for the T20Is.

Axar Patel, Ishant Sharma, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Rishi Dhawan and Brainder Balbirsingh Sran have been chosen in the ODI team, while Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ashish Nehra have been named in the T20I squad. Ravindra Jadeja has got India call after some powerful performance in the Test matches. Off-spinner Harbhajan, however, kept his place in the T20 squad.

MS Dhoni will be T20 team’s skipper for the upcoming T20 world cup, selectors informed media.

Apart from Yuvraj pacers Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami also recalled back in the team.

The squad, to be captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has expectedly been packed with seamers.

In the recently-concluded series against South Africa, India lost both the T20 matches and the ODI series 2-3 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. India tried 14 players in the ODI series and 12 in the T20 games.

India are scheduled to play five ODI and three T20Is on Australia tour starting January 12th.
