Team USA’s men’s and women’s basketball stars will be living a life of luxury during this month’s 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

U.S. guard Klay Thompson, whom Durant will play alongside next season at Golden State as well as for the next two weeks, likes the balcony views.

The US Olympic men, guided for the third and final time by coach Mike Krzyzewski, seek a third consecutive gold medal and the sixth in seven tries since National Basketball Association talent debuted on the 1992 Barcelona ‘Dream Team’.

The players seemed to understand the nature of the competition.

“A lot of those guys have already won gold medals before, and those guys have their reasons”. The Point Guard had set a record in 2008 when he became the youngest player to play in a final aged only 17 and he will be looking to do one better this time. “So, for us, we can not just get comfortable and think we are just going to walk out on the court and automatically win”. Now that the games are here, however, we can only hope we can move our attention to the athletic competitions. “I want to go back and see it up close”.

“This could be the last time we’re on the court together”, Taurasi told Fox News Latino after a recent practice session in Tarrytown, New York.

The women’s team has extensive Olympic experience: four one-time gold medalists, two two-time gold medalists and three four-time gold medalists. She continued, saying it’s “special” to be around the other Olympians. “If we can do it against each other, we can do it against anyone in the world”. “We’re docked. We have the same amenities as if we were staying in the hotel”. Of those 22 medals, 18 were gold.

“At first we had some problems, but they were fixed and we’re happy with the place”.

The improved facilities may also give Team USA a competitive advantage, although judging from their performances during their exhibition games, they don’t really need it. But, a warning: The U.S. men stayed aboard the Queen Mary 2 in Athens in 2004, and it proved to be a cruise to nowhere when the squad lost to Argentina and returned home with bronze.
