Team USA debuts new Olympic uniforms

The KOC will issue advice to its athletes and supporters traveling to Brazil about how to avoid contracting the virus, which can cause serious birth defects.

Olympic medallists including taekwondo competitor Lee Dae-hoon strutted down a short catwalk in blue jackets and white pants as well as white and blue and white and brown zip-up tracksuits, designed by fashion brand Bean Pole.

South Korean designer Bean Pole, on the other hand, went for a completely covered-up look in what the country hopes is a “Zika-proof” design. “If they have to wear nothing but a symbol that says United States of America on it, painted by hand, that is what they should wear”.

The national team will depart for Brazil on July 27, about a week before the opening of the Olympics on August 5.

“It is worrying, really concerning”.

The kit is said to be 10 per cent lighter than the one worn by Team GB at London’s 2012 Olympics, which McCartney also helped design.
