Team USA Gymnasts Make VMAs Debut in Shades of Shimmer

Douglas and her beloved teammates – Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian and Aly Raisman – were all slated to present an award at the Madison Square Garden event. Fifth team member Gabby Douglas was originally supposed to present with the rest of the crew, but was forced to drop out after being hospitalized for undisclosed reasons. “We’re sad she couldn’t be here to enjoy this with us”.

Douglas’ publicist Lesley Burbridge, however, told People that she was admitted to the hospital again on Sunday night. Still, it was smart of the gold medalist to stay home – especially since she ended up seeking medical attention AGAIN! “She continues to have deep swelling and adverse reactions to medications”.

Yet when they presented Beyoncé with the Best Female Video award, it was a special moment for everyone involved. She got to hug Beyonce. “It was. It’s been kind of a lot to deal with”. Unfortunately, Gabby Douglas wasn’t there (she was in the hospital earlier this weekend), but Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, Aly Raisman, and Madison Kocian swapped their glimmering, Swarovski-encrusted Olympic leotards for red-carpet worthy ensembles.
