Team USA overpowers China 106-57 in friendly
The USA Basketball men’s national team is in the Bay Area tonight to play China for the second time in just three days.

On that note, Warriors fans get to welcome their stars back and see them leave with a win – I’m sure Warriors fans are not happy to see their team lose to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals on their home court. The match can also be watched online via the USA Basketball Facebook feed. US cruised to an easy victory in its first pre-Olympics friendly against Argentina on Friday night in Las Vegas, defeating the Argentinian national team, 111-74.
Team USA will face China again on Tuesday, this time in Oakland.
Former first round draft pick Yi Jianlian led China with 18 points and seven rebounds. Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers did, though, and he had a theory. From there on out, a 19-6 run took place in the final three and a half minutes, with the US securing a 13-point lead after one quarter of play. Thompson was right behind him with 17 points, and both players hit four 3-pointers.
The atmosphere should be far different for the squad’s leading scorer Kevin Durant as well as new Golden State Warriors teammate Draymond Green than the pair received in Los Angeles during Team USA’s 106-57 drubbing of the Chinese on Sunday.

It was the 65th straight US win for head coach Mike Krzyzewski. With fellow Warriors Thompson and Draymond Green joining him, another powerful performance from the star will lead the US closer to the Gold. A win in this match will surely boost the confidence of Team USA and ultimately help counter the Chinese in the global arena. They will then close out friendly competition July 29 in Chicago versus Venezuela followed by a matchup with Nigeria August 1 in Houston.
