Teams interested in Josh Gordon, Browns won’t trade him

“It feels great”, said the third-year pro, a former college teammate of RG III. There’s a reason why we do what we do on every play.

According to a source close to the team who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the subject, the Eagles, to his knowledge, are not one of the teams who have inquired about Gordon. Gordon was only targeted twice and finished with 87 yards receiving, both his catches coming when he beat cornerback Brent Grimes, one of Tampa Bay’s key offseason acquisitions.

Thanks to failing four NFL-administered drug tests, Gordon hasn’t played since December 2014.

The first-year coach welcomed an opportunity to bring his team to Florida for a pair of joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week, figuring it’s not only helpful work leading into a preseason game between the clubs, but also could prove beneficial when the Browns visit the Sunshine State again next month.

“I played with Josh before”. “It’s fun throwing to any of those guys when they make plays like that for you”, Griffin said.

“I really can’t comment on that”. It was said that any potential trades was rejected by Jimmy Haslam, reported Niners.

“We had a lot of good work”, Jackson said. “He did some good things. I still have room to improve, but overall, I think I came here and did my job, got back into great shape out here and just competing with the guys at a high level”.

Griffin set National Football League rookie records for passer rating (102.4), interception percentage (1.27) and rushing yards by a quarterback (815) that season.

Griffin was sacked five times. Extended first-team playing time against the Buccaneers will be even more telling about the defense’s ability to clamp down and if it can do better than what we saw a year ago and in the first two preseason contests. Griffin had little success when he wasn’t throwing deep to Gordon.

Turning Point: The Bucs scored on their first two drives but had just a seven-point lead in the first quarter when the Tampa Bay defense forced a three-and-out and the game’s first punt. He missed the first two preseason games with a quadriceps injury. Evans used all of that size to pluck the ball out of the air over the Cleveland defender and carry him two more yards into the end zone.

The teams will share the practice fields at One Buccaneer Place again Wednesday, then face each other in a nationally televised exhibition Friday night.

In any event, however, the Browns appear intent on keeping Gordon after having stuck with him through so much already, and for his part, Gordon has said that he wants to be with the Browns as well.
