Fast-forward to today and it’s Hulu that holds the rights to this story and the streaming giant just released the first trailer for the upcoming “eight-part event series” titled 11-22-63. This teaser trailer doesn’t show too much footage, but it certainly looks to be a fascinating thriller with a very Stephen King-esque twist. “Would you go back in time to save JFK?” is sort of the more positive, less creepy version of what has become an popular hypothetical.

The series also stars Chris Cooper as Jake’s diner owner buddy Al, Josh Duhamel as Frank Dunning (the murderous father in Jake’s early time travel experiment), and “A unsafe Method” actress Sarah Gadon as Jake’s love interest, Sadie.

This fantasy period piece for TV is produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot, with both Abrams and his former Lost alum Bryan Burk executive producing along with King.
