Ted Cruz accuses Donald Trump of mafia ties

Cruz said, though, that he would support Trump if he were the Republican nominee for president.

Mr Cruz said: “If Donald is embarrassed about his tax returns, it’s up to the voters to assess the facts”.

“We have to rally now – not just to stop Donald Trump, but to save the conservative movement”, Rubio said as he described Trump as a “con artist” who is not a “tough guy” or a conservative. However, they could release their full tax returns if they would choose to do so.

Ted Cruz. Rubio, however, has capitalized on Jeb Bush’s departure from the race to rack up endorsements from top Republican fundraisers. Texas Senator Ted Cruz is focusing his efforts on his home state and its 155 of the roughly 600 delegates at stake Tuesday.

For Clinton, the best case Super Tuesday is a simple one: turning her decisive win in SC on Saturday into a sweep across the South and beyond that will cement the perception that she’s on an all-but-unstoppable march to her party’s nomination. Bernie Sanders, D-Vermont, by a 60 percent to 34 percent margin, according to the poll.

With Trump leading in all but one of the states going to the polls on Super Tuesday, his two main opponents have finally taken off the gloves to attack him viciously.

“I built a great business”, he said, adding that he wished his father had given him $200 million as Rubio alleged in the debate. “And I want to make sure Hillary Clinton doesn’t win”.

Cruz faces an uphill battle to overtake Trump for the nomination.

If Governor Chris Christie’s surprise endorsement of Donald Trump represents a genuine political romance between two men who had previously been at odds, then one can not help but feel the tycoon’s bedside manner is somewhat lacking. Rubio, a USA senator from Florida, is also pressuring Trump to make public his returns. He said he didn’t know anything about it and curtly said: “All right, I disavow, ok?” “There are a lot of angry people out there”.

“I will support the Republican nominee. How are we going to grow the party if we nominate someone who doesn’t repudiate the Ku Klux Klan?”

“I know nothing about David Duke”, Trump said on “State of the Union”.

But while Thorndike faulted Trump for backing away from releasing his tax returns, he called partial releases such as those by Rubio and Cruz “fake transparency”.

Trump said on Thursday that he is being audited and won’t release his tax returns until the audit is over and could not guarantee he would release them in time for the general election.

“If we nominate Donald, we end up electing Hillary as president”, he said.

“You don’t know what he’s going to say”, Cruz told reporters.

But Cruz leads Trump in his home state of Texas by 13 points, 39 percent to 26 percent. They show he and his wife Heidi brought in an annual average of $1,131,792, with large portions of their income coming from Cruz’s work in 2011 and 2012 at the law firm Morgan, Lewis and Bockius, and his wife’s work at Goldman Sachs.
