Ted Cruz accuses Donald Trump of threatening delegates

The two Alabama Republicans who will help write the rules at July’s Republican National Convention are party delegates pledged to support Donald Trump.

As election analyst Harry Enten at FiveThirtyEight concluded after Saturday’s shutout of Trump, “Trump’s path to the 1,237 delegates necessary to clinch the Republican nomination is so tenuous that he can’t afford slip-ups anywhere”.

Cruz joked that Trump is doing so poorly in securing delegates that if he were on his own reality show, “The Apprentice”, he would have to fire himself. “Unfortunately, I think he’s causing a lot of trouble, because he’s telling people they’re rigging the game, they’re cheating”, Emmanuelson said. Cruz conceded that Trump will do well in upcoming primaries, including in Trump’s home state of NY next Tuesday. Not only did Trump openly trash Walker on the campaign trail as recently as last week, much of Walker’s exit speech from the GOP race previous year centered around defeating Trump.
