Ted Cruz agrees to speak at Republican convention

Trump aired doubts about the Canada-born senator’s eligibility to serve as president, and Cruz hit Trump for embodying “New York values” – a line of attack that would come to haunt him when the contest shifted to Trump’s home state.

Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse, one of Trump’s loudest critics among Senate Republicans, said he had a “gracious exchange” with the presumptive GOP nominee but that nothing had changed in how he felt.

Trump’s message was, “We all need to stick together”. That morning, Cruz lashed out at Trump for asserting that his father had cavorted with Lee Harvey Oswald, assassin of John F. Kennedy, citing a sketchy and utterly unverified report in the National Enquirer, a supermarket tabloid. “And I understand it, I get it”. “You’ve been very critical of me”, according to the Washington Post.

And some have continued to insist that Trump is more interested in winning – now by defeating presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton – than in actually serving as president of the United States and commander in chief, with all its tremendous power and responsibility. He has managed to annoy party leaders with inflammatory remarks to this day.

But even some skeptics, like Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, a conservative who endorsed Sen.

Dozens of protesters awaited Trump, shouting slogans and waving signs that said Trump is “Dangerous, Divisive, Deceitful”. “He thinks he has the ability”, Hardy said.

“The Cuban electorate is not immune to the Trump backlash”, Amandi said.

But it was a good showing for Flake, who is emerging as the true Arizona maverick in the U.S. Senate.

Sasse’s spokesman, in a statement, said the senator considers the two presidential choices a “Dumpster fire”, adding that “nothing has changed”.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz says he has plenty of questions for James Comey Thursday, but he doesn’t question Comey’s integrity.

“For me, I’ve always said I want to get there”.

New York Representative Peter King, a past critic of Trump, had previously called the wealthy businessman a “gamble” at the top of the Republican ticket in the November 8 general election. “There was no awkward moment”.

Donald Trump is meeting with more than 200 House Republicans Thursday as he seeks to unite the party at a time when his campaign is again clouded by controversy.

During the meeting with House members, Washington Rep. Dan Newhouse, a former director of the state’s agriculture department, told Trump that farmers in his district were anxious about his criticism of trade agreements and “needed something to give them confidence that he would do the right things related to trade”.

Right now, 48 Texas delegates are bound to Trump, while 104 are bound to Texas U.S. Senator Ted Cruz. Thom Tillis said, “I think there were people saying let’s just make sure that we’re projecting a unified image”.

But not everyone was won over. His campaign says he intends to vote for the Republican nominee in November. Trump also asked Cruz to help recommend potential judicial nominees, the official said.

Trump is seeking to unify a Republican Party less than two weeks before its nominating convention in Cleveland.

The Rogers lawmaker hadn’t spent time with Trump since the start of the campaign. That’s where I’ve been, that’s where I continue to be. “I really do. I just can’t support him given the things that he’s said”, Flake told reporters later. “He said Hispanics love him”, Dent said.
