Ted Cruz announces he’ll vote for Trump
The bar for Donald Trump is relatively low – he just has to show he’s a plausible president, and not the outrageous, offensive character some voters see on the campaign trail. And there’s the brash showman who says whatever he wants. But it’s complicated by her unorthodox rival, who is, in the words of a top Democrat, “the ideal opponent to drive her insane”.

Hillary Clinton versus Donald Trump’s first confrontation is largely expected to be the most viewed presidential debate in national history.
“With Trump and Hillary at heads with each other, bat with each other, it’s a really exciting debate and time to be on campus”, he said.
Meanwhile, Trump prefers not to do 90-minute mock debate.
“Presidential elections should be about who’s the best candidate, not who’s the least flawed”.
He credited his decision partially to his former pledge that he would support the party nominee and to believing that Hillary Clinton is “wholly unacceptable”, he said. She said the campaign expects the debate moderator to “call out those lies and to do so in real time”.
The debate in NY, which could attract an astonishing 100 million viewers, comes as the race has tightened, with polls now showing that Clinton’s large lead has dwindled.
Hillary Clinton is breaking with President Barack Obama and backing legislation that would allow families of September 11 victims to sue the government of Saudi Arabia for any role in the attack.
But Obama’s comments acknowledge his personal connection that drove Democrats to the polls four years ago – one Clinton has struggled to match.
A veteran of almost 40 debates during her career, Clinton has never dealt with the unpredictability quotient that Trump brings.
Some 77 percent of them think the country is on the “wrong track”, which puts them more in line with Trump supporters than Clinton backers.
But even Cruz detractors could understand why he wasn’t keen on backing the GOP nominee, after Trump falsely insinuated Cruz’s father may have been part of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, as well as Trump’s mean-spirited attacks on Cruz’s wife. But she’s never faced an opponent quite like Trump before. She didn’t come off as likable. She also thinks the old Trump won’t be able to hide the whole time.
Donald Trump has boasted of buying political favors for his businesses, arguing that his wealth means he can’t be bought.
Bovada is accepting bets covering a broad range, such as the color of Trump’s tie (red is the favorite at -200, with black going for +3300).
More also say their unfavourable opinion of Trump is a strong one than say the same of Clinton, 50 per cent to 44 per cent. “If she’s respectful of me, that’ll be nice”, he said. “It’s as if God or the devil or fate constructed the flawless opponent to drive her insane”.
Trump has a rally scheduled for Virginia on Saturday.
Both the Democratic and Republican vice presidential nominees are also largely unknown.

Clinton and Trump were the only two candidates invited to Monday’s debate based on polling. When asked Monday night if he’d appear in the debates hosted by CNN’s Anderson Cooper and ABC’s Martha Raddatz, Trump said he’d “show up” but that “they’re gaming the ref” after Matt Lauer was criticized for being too soft on him during NBC’s Commander in Chief Forum earlier this month.
