Since he announced his candidacy last summer, Trump has leveraged his celebrity and deep pockets to wage an unfiltered campaign that has upended the Republican primary.

The dust-up is over an ad Cruz’s campaign is airing in SC that paints Trump as supportive of abortion rights – featuring a 1999 clip in which Trump calls himself “very pro-choice”.

Cruz fired back at a press conference Wednesday, encouraging Trump to follow through on what he called “frivolous lawsuits”. Trump has threatened a lawsuit, saying he’s since changed his position, and Cruz said the cease and desist letter made him laugh.

File the lawsuit…. I may take the deposition myself.

Without mentioning Trump by name, the 69-year-old George W. Bush left no doubt he was talking about the NY billionaire who uses incendiary rhetoric at his campaign events.

The poll, conducted after the Republican primary debate held in SC on Saturday, shows Cruz in first place with 28 percent of the vote to Trump’s 26 percent. Cruz said that he has four points of evidence against Trump.

But Cruz’s 2-point edge is within the poll’s margin of error, and it’s not clear if the survey captures real movement in the race or is simply an outlier.

“Mr. Trump’s implausible claim that he is pro-life doesn’t meet a reality test”, said Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler. “I probably would take the opportunity to nominate someone”, Carson said. “I think somebody at Wall Street Journal doesn’t like me but I never do well with the Wall Street Journal poll”, Trump said.

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has come out in defense of the so-called enhanced interrogation techniques, saying, “Torture works”.

Needless to say, Haley’s endorsement is welcome news for Senator Rubio’s campaign as voters head to the polls on Saturday for the GOP primary.

“She also embodies and exemplifies what I want the Republican party to be known as in the 21st century – vibrant, reform-oriented, optimistic, and upwardly mobile”, he added.

The governor noted two candidates he considers good friends, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, have dropped out of the race, but former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Ohio Gov. John Kasich are still in the running.

The state’s first female and first minority governor said just Tuesday that she may not endorse this cycle.

It didn’t take long for Trump to fire back.

Attacks between Trump and Cruz have intensified this week.

“If there was ever an award that a Republican politician should be ashamed to receive, that’s it”, Cruz said.
