Ted Cruz booed after not endorsing Trump during speech

Ted Cruz was addressing a crowd on the sidelines of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland on Wednesday when he was upstaged by Donald Trump yet again. That raised the stakes even higher for what is meant to be Trump’s triumphant turn on the stage Thursday night as he accepts the Republican nomination. Cruz, the congressman said, had an opportunity to help bring the party together with a unifying speech. And he stressed that Donald Trump is a candidate that would not be bought.

“People behind her were getting very ugly”, said Cuccinelli.

Chris Carmona-Cruz was like numerous Texas delegates who said he was not upset that Ted Cruz did not endorse Trump.

Pence’s style is a clear contrast to Donald Trump’s brashness. The Indiana governor will give a prime-time address Wednesday that will allow him to reintroduce himself to the nation after a sometimes awkward event over the weekend where he was presented as Trump’s running mate.

Perhaps the wildest attack on Tuesday came from former GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson, who told the crowd that one of Clinton’s “role models” – community activist Saul Alinsky – “acknowledges Lucifer” in a 1971 book.

Baldasaro, who is also a New Hampshire state representative and Trump delegate, also called Clinton a “piece of garbage”, and “the Jane Fonda of the Vietnam”, referring to the myth that Fonda turned over smuggled messages from POWs to their captors during a trip to North Vietnam.

Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake, a Trump critic who’s skipping the GOP convention, tweeted that Republicans “can make the case that she shouldn’t be elected without jumping the shark”. During the primary process, Trump often targeted Cruz personally, which did not sit well with Washington state “Cruzers”. The forces Trump has flirted with throughout his campaign threatened to overwhelm his convention altogether. If they didn’t, then the Trump campaign sent them out to tell lies and has now thrown them under the bus.

“That was pretty well orchestrated”, Cruz said, laughing, taking it in stride as many supporters began booing loudly.

Does Trump have a muscular campaign?

Other scheduled speakers include former U.S. House speaker Newt Gingrich, Trump Organization vice president and Trump son Eric, and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, whose own presidential hopes at least for this cycle were dashed early in the hunt.

“Vote your conscience”, Cruz said, the first signal to the delegates in the hall that the man Trump called Lyin’ Ted during their primary battles was audaciously withholding his backing.

Visceral disdain for Clinton has been palpable all week on the convention floor, where the go-to chant is “Lock her up”. Most speakers used a portion of their time on stage to confirm their confidence in Trump instead of Clinton.
