Ted Cruz booed lustily as he refuses to endorse Donald Trump
Gingrich told the crowd that Cruz had said that in the context of protecting the Constitution, and since Hillary Clinton will shred it as president, then the only way to “vote your conscience” is for “the Trump-Pence ticket”, QED.

“Vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution”, Cruz said.
As Cruz began winding up his speech, the convention hall grew noisier, with some chanting “Trump”.
Iowa delegate Cecil Stinemetz called Trump “the worst nominee that we have put forward for the Republican Party in the history of the Republican Party” and said he didn’t plan to return to the convention floor the rest of the week.
Cruz was expected to continue sidestepping a formal endorsement of Trump during his convention remarks. And Cruz stuck to his prepared text which was released by the RNC under embargo well ahead of his speech.
On the campaign trail, Trump nicknamed Cruz “Lyin’ Ted”, and derided him as “unstable”, “crazy”, “a maniac” and “sick”.
But he also seemed to give his own supporters a pass if they didn’t fully feel comfortable voting for Trump.
Trump did get a boost from Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, one of the 16 Republicans whose White House dreams were vanquished during the primary.
He continued, “For the sake of rule of law, for the sake of the sanctity of life, for the sake of our Second Amendment, and for the sake of all of our God-given liberties, we have to make sure the next president appointing justices to the Supreme Court is Donald Trump”.
“I personally admire the way Mr Trump has handled this situation and I am grateful for his understanding”. Pence’s performance on Wednesday, and his interactions with Trump, could help to sell hesitant Republicans at home on the duo.
Melania Trump, wife of Republican nominee Donald Trump, speaks during the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland Monday.
It’s been two days since Donald Trump’s wife delivered her now-infamous address in Cleveland, and we’re FINALLY learning the truth about who really wrote the speech… or so we think.
“We’re fighting not for one particular candidate or one campaign”, Cruz said at another point, but so that Americans can tell their children and grandchildren “that we did our best for their future, and our country”.

Democrats have seized on the similarities in the speech and the Trump campaign’s various explanations over the ensuing 48 hours as showing that his team is not ready for prime time. “A person she has always liked is Michelle Obama”, McIver wrote in a typed letter printed on stationery with “Trump” letterhead in gold at the top.
