Ted Cruz booed off stage at RNC in Cleveland

Republican officials told reporters the senator’s speech was “classless”, while commentators observed they had never witnessed anything like before. “Together, we will make America great again”, he said.

Pence officially became the Vice Presidential nominee Tuesday night.

Trump joined Pence on stage, applauding his new political partner and humorously leaning in to almost give him a kiss on the cheek.

“He’s a man known for his large personality, his colorful style, and his charisma – and, well, I guess he was looking for someone to balance the ticket”, Pence said, laughing.

Pence opened his speech by pointing to his small-town upbringing and his immigrant father – the classic American dream story of working hard to rise from humble roots.

The campaign had hoped Pence’s address would quiet Republican doubts about Trump. Nothing the anti-Trump forces say or do now can revoke his status as the GOP nominee, but an outburst would be embarrassing for Trump and would highlight lingering divisions within the party. Still, Walker suggested he was driven as much by a desire to keep Democrat Hillary Clinton out of the White House as admiration for his party’s nominee.

Mike Pence once swore off negative campaigning.

Though each night of the convention has its own pre-designated theme, the real overarching theme seems to be anti-Clinton posturing.

Pence is playing on one of Trump’s most well-known catchphrase. The night is supposed to focus on how Trump plans to unite the country and bridge divisions so the USA can confront challenges at home and overseas.

“This is the outsider, my running mate, who turned a long- shot campaign into a movement”, Pence said.

Unlike Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump is committed to cut taxes and get our national debt under control.

“Please, don’t stay home in November”, he said.

Hillary for prosecution, not president!

“I think you misunderstood one paragraph that Ted Cruz – who is a superb orator – said”, Gingrich said.

Dad Donald Trump sat in the family box at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland to hear his son make the case for Trump’s election to the White House.

After that episode, Pence, the IN governor and a favorite of conservatives who have decidedly mixed feelings about Trump, tried to make his mark to a nation that knows little about him.

But as it was clear Cruz was wrapping up his speech without endorsing Trump, delegates began to boo and some chanted “We want Trump!”

As Cruz concluded his speech, cameras cut to Trump arriving in the arena, giving the crowd a thumbs-up.

“Ted Cruz said you can vote your conscience for anyone who will uphold the constitution”. He never says they should vote for Trump.

Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort said that since Cruz came second in the primary race, he deserved a good speaking spot.

After that first slight – done via retweet – Cruz labeled Trump a “sniveling coward”.

Cruz is saying nearly nothing about Trump in his speech. That decision was sure to spark a new round of second guessing about the campaign’s management of the convention and preparedness for the bruising campaign against Clinton.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has been lukewarm in his support of Trump and criticized his comments about a Hispanic federal judge.

“We have seen borders that go unrespected, a military that has been diminished, promise after promise to our veterans forgotten”, he said.

Walker – who was one of Trump’s early challengers before dropping out of the race past year – says a vote for a protest vote for a third-party candidate is essentially a vote for Democrat Clinton.

So angry were some at the convention, Heidi Cruz had to be escorted out of the hall by former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.

Alvarado says people came to the USA from countries that are full of corruption and dishonesty.
