Ted Cruz says he’ll vote for Donald Trump

Cruz, a senator from Texas who is a favourite of the conservative Tea Party movement, was one of Trump’s last challengers for the Republican presidential nomination to drop out of the race.

In some ways, this group looks like a typical Trump supporter: they are mainly white, without college degrees, older, and frustrated by the status quo. “Whereas Donald Trump today visited a African-American church with boxing promoter Don King”.

Of interest among the demographics of the poll is a higher percentage of state voters identifying as Republicans. More than half of voters – 52 per cent – say they don’t know enough about Clinton’s running mate, Virginia Sen.

“I think she’s an extremely dishonest person and have extreme disdain for her and her husband”, said one registered Republican, Denise Pettitte, 36, from Watertown, Wisconsin. “But Trump is scary to them”.

The Clinton campaign has been tight-lipped about their choice to portray Mr Trump in debate practices, but it is their hope to keep the Democratic nominee on the offensive as the former reality television star will likely try to put her on defence.

Even among those saying they’ll most likely vote for Trump, 40 percent say they think the word “compassionate” doesn’t describe him well.

The idea is that watching people react to Trump helps voters see themselves in those individuals’ shoes, a Clinton campaign official said.

Voters gave Clinton the edge over Trump on a series of key issues.

Clinton has been devoting a significant amount of time to preparing for the debate, according to Palmieri. “But just that people accommodate their questions, and lower the bar of their questions to suit the candidate in front of them and that’s what happened with Trump in the past”. Clinton must be ready to quickly tick off her own lines of attack against ISIS.
