Ted Cruz stuck in elevator, blames Donald Trump

Upon being released, Cruz quipped, “Who put Donald Trump in charge of the elevators?”

Cameron Gray (@Cameron_Gray) said, “As a Jewish conservative born in Brooklyn, I proudly have #NewYorkValues”.

Cuomo, who is backing Hillary Clinton for president and was a cabinet member under former President Clinton, has criticized Trump during the presidential campaign, but defended NY and even Trump’s comments about the nation rallying around NY after the 9/11 attacks. To his supporters, he channels their frustration with new threats to their job security and to the country’s borders.

That standard, Cruz said, would disqualify several candidates. “And I won’t be angry when we fix it”.

Cruz dismissed Trump’s issues over his birthplace at the debate, saying the line of thinking is largely proffered by liberals afraid of facing Cruz in a general election. John McCain, who was born on a USA military base in Panama, and Republican George Romney, Mitt Romney’s father, who was born to US citizens in Mexico. He said donors in NY should not give to Cruz.

Trump came to New York’s defense, citing its response to the September 11 attacks.

The New York Daily News responded with a front page showing an image of the Statue of Liberty raising its middle finger with the headline “Drop dead, Ted”. Or, more specifically, whether people think he is irredeemably a New Yorker. Last month’s faceoff, aired on CNN, was seen by 18.2 million. If there’s an antithesis to “New York values”, that’s it right there.

Cruz later added that, “everyone understands that the values in New York City are socially liberal or pro-abortion or pro- gay-marriage, focus around money and the media”.

Neil Cavuto and Maria Bartiromo, moderators of the Fox Business Network Republican presidential debate speak to the audience on stage at the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center prior to the debate on January 14, 2016 in North Charleston, South Carolina.

The poll found that Trump was the top choice of 33% of Republican primary voters. After a Friday lawsuit questioning exactly that, Trump took a victory lap.

But Cruz is not alone – his fellow Cuban-American presidential candidate and freshman senator is facing similar litigation. “If he doesn’t, they won’t”.

But as Trump tells it, massive campaign events merely to vent their economic frustrations are not enough.

This is all very attractive, if a bit rich coming in part from a governor who seems hellbent on doing what he can to undercut the mayor of his state’s most profitable city. Goldman Sachs owns him, he will do anything they demand.
