Ted Cruz sweeps Wyoming Republican Convention

Both the NY primaries are closed primaries – meaning to vote in the Democrat primary you must be registered as a Democrat, and to vote in the Republican primary you must be registered as a Republican.

The Manhattan billionaire leads Kasich by more than 30 points and Cruz by 35 in the latest RealClearPolitics average of several recent ny primary polls.

In upstate NY, where I reside, the Quinnipiac polls put Cruz at 26 percent, Kasich at 22 percent and Trump at 47 percent.

“I mean the whole thing’s a big pay-off, has nothing to do with democracy”, he added. More than half of his supporters said they wouldn’t vote for Cruz in the general election, and over two-thirds said the same of Trump. But Sanders was more likely to be seen as honest.

“It should be a monumentally magnificent convention, and it should be brilliant staged, but they’re spending $50 million on security”, he said in the interview.

54 of the Commonwealth’s 71 delegates to the Republican National Convention will be directly elected (their names appear on the ballot) in a LOOPHOLE type primary, in which delegates are elected separately from a presidential preference.

State representative Carlos Trujillo is now a GOP convention delegate and admitted to 7News that he is excited for the possibility of a contested convention.

Trump is polling high in the Empire State and with 95 delegates at stake could come away with a welcome win after a few tough weeks.
