Ted Cruz talks about the differences between himself and Donald Trump

As for Ted Cruz’s point of view, he pointed out that a WSJ/NBC News poll sees him as the victor in an eventual two-man race with Trump. The phrase “New York values” has gotten buzz over the last week in a way “flip-flopper” never would have.

“I will apologize”, Cruz noted on Friday night at a campaign rally.

“Sen. Ted Cruz should apologize to the people of NY for his remarks and to the people of the United States for his crass attempt to divide us”. “And I guess I can frame it another way, not a lot of conservatives come out of Manhattan”.

Trump has slipped in the polls in Iowa, with many recent voter surveys putting Cruz in front there.

Cruz was dismissive of Trump’s statements, saying he had only brought his birthplace up because of Cruz’s gain in polling in Iowa.

Trump, who needs a victory in Iowa to set a winning tone to his campaign, kept up his attempt to undermine Cruz’s attempt to portray himself as an outsider to the political establishment.

During the debate Thursday, moderator Maria Bartiromo asked Cruz to explain past comments he had made about Trump embodying “New York values”.

In one, Trump tweeted: “Ted Cruz said he “didn’t know” that he was a Canadian Citizen”.

The day featured addresses by potential presidential candidates. But many scholars say that simply being born in America does not make you an American citizen; that is the argument used to legalize anchor babies.

New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio tweeted: Just this once, Trump’s right: New Yorkers value hard work, diversity, tolerance, resilience, and building better lives for our families.

Cruz didn’t mention Trump during his own speeches Friday and Saturday, including at his speech two hours before Trump at the Tea Party convention, when audience members friendly to both might have responded badly. “We saw more death and even the smell of death and it was with us for months”.

“I don’t think Americans are going to have a good reaction”.

Cruz first attacked Trump for his “New York values” earlier this week.

“I apologize to the millions of New Yorkers who have been let down by liberal politicians in that state”, Cruz told the press.

“On behalf of all New Yorkers, I am disgusted at the insult that Ted Cruz threw at this city and its people”, de Blasio said.

“You know, I think most people know exactly what NY values are”, the candidate said.
