Ted Cruz Tries To Woo Evangelical Voters In Iowa
In the previous Quinnipiac poll, released in early November, Trump and Carson were running in a statistical dead heat, with Trump winning 24 percent support and Carson at 23 percent, according to an earlier CBS story. Bernie Sanders nationally, 60 percent to 30 percent, a seven-point improvement for Clinton since last month. Clinton just barely bests Rubio, 45 percent to 44 percent, while she tops Cruz 47 percent to 42 percent. “Donald Trump seems to be wearing Kevlar”.

Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist, has sought to seduce voters on the left, but his campaign, which soared in the summer, appears to have come down to Earth and is plodding along with little gain against Clinton.
On the Democratic side, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton continued her dominance, leading Sen.
In Quinnipiac’s poll last month, Trump and Carson had been locked in a statistical dead heat. The poll includes 672 Republicans, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 points, and 573 Democrats, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 points. Now, he’s at 5 percent.
Cruz claimed that Rubio’s supporters were trying to distract Republican voters from Rubio’s past support for comprehensive immigration reform.
Dig deeper into the poll and things look even better for the Texas senator.
Presidential candidate Ted Cruz took a question about women’s access to birth control and turned it into an attack against Democrats Monday, saying at an Iowa town that they’ve manufactured a war on women and falsely painted conservatives as the “condom police”. Those subgroups are also the three most important and powerful when it comes to deciding the GOP nominee in 2016. “I’m talking about anybody who doesn’t have the requisite experience to make the tough decisions they need to be president”, he said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”, adding that Rubio, Cruz and others “have no experience in governing”. “As Cruz tries to police women’s health care decisions and deny a war on women, Hillary Clinton will fight every day to protect them against this seemingly endless Republican assault”.
The Q poll also shows that Cruz has one very clear edge over Trump as the race moves forward: nearly no one said they wouldn’t support him. Many religious conservatives at this church say they like what they see in Cruz.
At the stage of the race when many caucus-goers are still deciding who to support in the first in the nation presidential caucus, Cruz is making a big play for Iowa evangelical voters, who helped Mike Huckabee in 2008 and Rick Santorum in 2012 win the Iowa Republican caucuses. Now, she’s planning to volunteer for the Cruz campaign.

It seems increasingly obvious that Marco Rubio is the GOP Establishment’s guy, with triple Jeb Bush’s support, and other Establishment-friendly candidates struggling to claw their way out of the asterisk bin.
