Clinton’s triumph padded her delegate lead over rival Bernie Sanders and strengthened her claim to the Democratic nomination that eluded her eight years ago.

The national front-runners are now both closer to securing their party nominations. More than half of his supporters said they wouldn’t vote for Cruz in the general election, and two-thirds said the same of Trump. Ted Cruz over delegates in over uncommitted delegates it’s not all clear that Mr Trump even if with this resenting victory to get to the twelve thirty seven. the number of delegates he needs to win the nomination the first ballot.is probably a good close now a close may be enough.

Kasich, the only other Republican left in the race, bested Cruz on Tuesday and is refusing to end his campaign despite winning only his home state. The one who clinches 2,383 delegates in all wins the party’s nomination. Hillary Clinton won in NY more than a state; it is likely she won a campaign.

Of the 247 Democratic delegates at stake in New York, Clinton picked up at least 129 while Sanders gained at least 98.

Meanwhile, former NY senator Clinton has garnered just under 58 per cent of the vote.

There had been deep frustrations over New York’s strict rules governing the vote, particularly among independent voters not allowed to participate and who could have been expected to favor Sanders.
