Ted Danson Leaving CSI: Cyber After One Season
He has signed on to star in Parks & Recreation co-creator Mike Schur‘s new NBC comedy Good Place with Kristen Bell.

The former Cheers star was only a part of the show because he had one year left on his contract for the original CSI, which ended earlier this season with a TV movie.
However it works out schedule-wise, the new program will mark Bell’s return to being a network TV regular after her run as the title character on cult hit Veronica Mars, whereas Danson is well known for his network comedy background on the long-running series Cheers and Becker. NBC announced the casting on Tuesday. “She decides to turn over a new leaf by learning what it actually means to be “good” or “bad”, and then trying to make up for her past behaviour”.
Dansons new sitcom has only been ordered for 13 episodes at this point, according to Entertainment Weekly, so theres not necessarily any reason why he shouldnt be able to drop by CSI: Cyber in the future or possibly even return if Good Place flops.
Danson is set to star as Michael, who, through an unlikely set of circumstances, comes to be Eleanor’s guide through her self-designed self-improvement course. Danson, meanwhile, has a clear dance card for the time being, having wrapped filming on season two of CSI: Cyber a while back, and with the second season of Fargo aired to completion.

Kristen Bell will reportedly continue to act on Showtime’s House of Lies if it gets picked up for a sixth season. He was also nominated for eight Golden Globes and won twice.
