Well, the season has come to a premature ending for Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater after he devastated his knee on a non-contact play during practice Tuesday. The team released a statement which said that Bridgewater does not have nerve or arterial damage.

Bridgewater dropped back to pass during a drill and planted his foot before crumpling to the ground. Trainers rushed to his side and began inflating an aircast, and the quarterback appeared to be holding his left leg.

Some players were swearing as they walked off the field, while others knelt in prayer as Bridgewater was receiving medical attention.

Cornerback Captain Munnerlyn was in a group of about seven players who went to the hospital where Bridgewater was taken by ambulance so they could visit their teammate.

-Lost in the bigger news of Teddy Bridgewater’s practice injury was the release of longtime starting center John Sullivan.

Bridgewater’s 2016 season coming to an end thanks to a horrific knee injury that reportedly left numerous Vikings players visibly distraught and forced the practice to be canceled early. He hasn’t blown us away, but he has one thing playing in his favor, and it’s the fact that the team spent a draft pick on him this offseason.

Peterson said it showed him a lot that Bridgewater would go to the practice facility just two days after the injury.

“Today is a disappointing day. I’ve talked to – well, in spirit, I’ve talked to my dad, and he always found a way to do it”, said an emotional Zimmer. “We’re going to grieve today and be upset about it”.

Coach Mike Zimmer said: “Teddy’s such a great kid”. “I love this kid. I feel like we’ll still be able to be a balanced offense and we’re just going to go from there”. “We’re not looking for excuses”. Now that the quarterback is done for the season, the defending NFC North champions have a much tougher road ahead of them to reach Super Bowl LI.

But even with career backup Shaun Hill taking over as Minnesota’s starter, the Vikings aren’t considered to be completely out of contention. If something goes wrong, he takes all the blame, and he’s like, ‘I’ll fix it, ‘ but really, we know who it was [that was at fault]. This is about a team and it’s about us trying to figure out ways to win football games. Zimmer said when asked about Alexander’s performance.

“Hopefully we’re talking about Teddy the same way next year at this time”, he said.
