The teenager was not recognized, but the arrest highlights a mounting concern for younger individuals within the US, who’re being uncovered to ISIL’s aggressive social media recruiting efforts.

Details of the arrest emerged days after U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee, said authorities “have disrupted one particular case” as he discussed the world leader’s safety.

Meanwhile, some sources very closely related to the case have clarified that the boy didn’t hold no imminent threat against the Pope as his plans were plainly “aspirational”.

The boy has been charged with attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organisation and attempting to provide material support to terrorist activity, the bulletin added.

During his trip, Pope Francis will make a total of 26 speeches: eight in Cuba and 18 in the U.S. of which four will be in English and the rest in the Pope’s native Spanish.

The source said law-enforcement officials initially debated whether to charge the teen given his age and mental-health status, but decided to move forward with criminal charges because the threats involved the pope and the teen made online contact with people overseas.

The Vatican on Tuesday dismissed the possibility of any kind of meeting between Pope Francis and representatives of the FARC in Cuba.

Some 40,000 people won two free tickets each in the ticket lottery hosted by the city of New York and Archdiocese of New York.

“We trust that this occasion will be the biggest security challenge that the division and this city have ever confronted”, New York’s police chief, William J. Bratton, said at an instructions Monday, alluding to the ecclesiastical visit, the United Nations social occasion and the show.

This interview comes just before the pope is scheduled to visit the USA for the first time on September 24.
