“My thoughts and prayers are with the Pennsylvania State Police Trooper shot on Interstate 676 in the line of duty today”, Gov. Tom Wolf said in a release.

A teenager has been charged in connection with the shooting of a Pennsylvania State Trooper on I-676 in Center City Philadelphia. “No matter what happens, I’ve gotta be there for my son!”
The teen and a second person who was in the vehicle when it was stopped were in custody as police searched for two more people following the midmorning crash on a downtown highway, authorities said.
All four of the suspects were taken into custody following the altercation, The Associated Press reported.
The suspect then allegedly opened fire on the trooper after pulling his auto alongside the trooper’s vehicle.
A brief chase Tuesday morning ended when his auto struck a school bus and both vehicles burst into flames.
Casey was at the traffic stop for an expired registration with two other officers.
It is unclear if the school bus fire is related to the shooting.
The trooper sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder during the exchange, police said. The bus company has confirmed that no children were on the bus at the time of the crash, and that the driver is okay. The trooper returned fire from inside the cruiser.
Steve Glowacki was working nearby when he saw the shooting.
He said that the two were close – “I give him everything I can” – and that his son had seemed to be on a better track after being released from juvenile detention in June for heroin possession. Police would not tell us if these individuals had a criminal past, but did say they had recovered the shooter’s gun.
Pennsylvania is one of the states where the CDC says the bugs have been found.
Casey, 31, who had been called to the scene as backup, chased after the sedan in his police cruiser. “When I came out, there was a gunfight going on and that vehicle had already hit the bus”. The trooper is in stable condition. Other troopers rushed Casey to Hahnemann University Hospital where he is now listed in good condition.
