The crash happened just after 4 a.m. on Hurountario Street north of Highway 407, near Highpoint Side Road.
There’s no word yet on the cause of the crash.
It clipped a hydro police, police said, and hit a fence before crashing into a brick gate.
Two young people were in the vehicle – both the boy and girl were under the age of 16. “Obviously the investigation is ongoing”, Const. Stephanie Hammond told CP24 on Tuesday.
Police have since charged the driver with failure to comply with an undertaking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, criminal negligence causing death and unsafe operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
Earlier this morning, The CBC reported a 13-year-old passenger in the vehicle died on the scene, while the driver has been transported to hospital.
The accused was remanded until July 29, the release said, and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.
Officers closed Hurontario St. between County Rd.
