Teen held at Mexico City detention center

Tonya Couch and her 18-year-old, Ethan, were taken into custody this week in Mexico, where authorities believe the pair fled in November as Texas prosecutors investigated whether he had violated his probation. An additional condition is that Couch must pay her bail in Texas.

Tom Herman showed why he’s the hottest coach in college football on Thursday. “I think the best is still ahead for this program”. The receiver snuck past Houston’s secondary – which bit on a fake handoff to Cook – and Maguire found him for the easy touchdown.

Lawyers and court officials in both Mexico and the United States are still processing the statuses of Ethan and Tonya Couch.

Mr Anderson said authorities have no evidence that Couch’s father, who owns a sheet metal factory in North Texas, was involved. Transcripts from a a 2013 deposition for a civil suit brought by one of the victims of the crash, Ethan Couch admitted to taking drugs such as Valium, Hydrocodone, marijuana, cocaine and Xanax.

An official in Mexico says a teen fugitive from Texas known for using an “affluenza” defense has been granted a three-day delay in deportation.

Texas teenager Ethan Couch, who used an “affluenza” defense over a fatal drunken-driving accident, is not likely to return to the USA soon.

Following release of photos of her arrival in the USA, many social media users began to compare Tonya Couch’s likeness to a comedian known for his bright red, curly hair. She is accused of helping Ethan Couch flee to Mexico following her son’s having missed a probation appointment and being seen in a video that appeared to show him playing beer pong. If the judge declines to transfer Couch to adult court, Wilson plans to request that his probation be revoked, in which case he could be held in a juvenile facility until his sentence expires when he turns 19 next April.

Apparently, a Mexican court put an injunction on the Texan’s deportation since he entered the country illegally, so he could stay in their custody anywhere from three days to a couple of months depending on the migration process.

She looked away from cameras as she was taken to an unmarked auto and driven away.

If convicted, Tonya Couch faces a sentence of two to 10 years behind bars for assisting her son in eluding the authorities.

Mr Hunter said the legal move takes the decision out of an immigration agent’s hands and asks a higher authority to make the deportation decision. If the teen confirms his wish to go forward with that approach, the case would go to trial, and proceedings could take months, the official said. Of course, it should be noted again that Couch will not face any adult time for his little vacation. “We’re hopeful that’s not the case”.

But his mother was deported and flown to Los Angeles, where she was escorted through the city’s sprawling LAX airport in handcuffs by US marshals early Thursday morning.

Her son, Ethan, is being held in an immigration facility in Mexico City.

His attorneys in the USA said in a statement Wednesday that they couldn’t comment on the case because they weren’t licensed to practice law in Mexico.

Four people were killed and several injured outside Fort Worth, TX in June 2013 after Couch, driving intoxicated, crashed into a disabled vehicle on the side of the road. He was only 16 at the time, and many were outraged that a judge sentenced him to probation instead of jail time. The condition is not recognized as a medical diagnosis by the American Psychiatric Association, and the term drew widespread ridicule when it was employed.
