Teens died after drinking combination of racing fuel and Mountain Dew
A teenage boy died last week after drinking a mixture of racing fuel and Mountain Dew, according to police in Greenbrier, Tennessee. USA Today reports that within minutes of arriving at the scene, authorities were then called to the home of Stephenson’s unnamed friend, who was rushed to the hospital and was in a coma before dying Monday afternoon.

The Greenbrier Police Department in Tennessee is investigating the “unexplained death” of a 16-year-old boy after he and others reportedly drank racing fuel.
Authorities have not released the identity of the second teen. Logan was discovered unresponsive Thursday morning. Seger said she did not know how much of the mixture the teen had drunk, but said it was “a lot”. “They thought they would get the same effects as alcohol, but they weren’t aware of how toxic it was”. Two others are receiving medical treatment. The investigation continues into both boys’ deaths.
A deadly concoction called “Dewshine”, could be to blame for the deaths of two Tennessee teenagers, whose cases are among the first reported in Tennessee, according to health officials.
Racing fuel has a very high alcohol content, and can be fatal if consumed.
“Dewshine” is a mixture of Mountain Dew and racing fuel. They’re said to be doing well.
Police have not confirmed whether the boys had actually consumed the substance pending autopsy reports from the medical examiner’s office, Smith said. Several sources indicated that the teen was transported to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield and later transferred to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
On behalf of Robertson County Schools, I want to express our honest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the parents and families of two Robertson County Schools students who tragically lost their lives recently. “We need to educate people”.
